CILIPS has announced that its conference, being held at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow on 7th & 8th June 2011 will feature a special FE/HE strand on 7th June. The programme has been devised by Kathy Kearney (CILIPS) and Jill Evans (SCURL).
The speakers include:
Rachel Bruce (JISC) on resource discovery
Craig Mills (JISC RSC-NE) discussing 'Create and Convert'
Karen Stevenson (Glasgow University) introducing the mobile apps strategy
Carol Walker (JISC RSE Scotland NE) looking at library use of QR codes
JISCLegal will offer a workshop on 5 copyright tips for making online life easier
Ellen Collins (Research Information Network) will discuss the recent RIN publication 'Social media: a guide for researchers' and this will be followed by case studies from two researchers from QMU, Claire Seaman and Dr Ian Elliott
Owen Stephens (Open University) will look at mashing libraries to build communities
In addition on the same day you can hear new CILIP Chief Executive Annie Mauger discuss 'Defining our professional future'.
