News from SUNCAT
SUNCAT - Serials Union CATalogue for the UK research community:
SUNCAT are delighted to welcome Glasgow School of Art as a
new SUNCAT contributing library. This
addition brings the total number of contributing libraries to 91, plus the
CONSER database, the ISSN register and the Directory of Open Access Journals.
The Library of the Glasgow School of Art has one of the
finest art, design and architecture collections in the UK, reflecting the
School's long history. The School joins a growing number of art institutions on

Glasgow School of Art Library refurbishment news
From 8th June
until 15th September inclusive, the
Glasgow School of Art Library is planning a refurbishment of the ground floor
of the main Library. That means there will be no access to borrow or use the
bulk of the Library's collections during this period.
GSA Library will continue to process SCONUL applications, but applicants should be
advised services will be reduced.
All
digital collections will continue to be fully available over the summer but
only a very limited selection from the print collection, please advise your
users to consult the Library website for full details before visiting. http://prism.talis.com/gsa/

National Gallery London puts its Archive online
The National Gallery in London has placed its Archive catalogue online.
Feedback on the look and feel of it has been requested.

Slide collections as archives
Archive Interventions is an Art History and Visual Studies PhD project and blog at the University of Manchester, looking at slide collections as valuable archives.
This coincides with an increasing interest across the Art Libraries Society UK membership list in the value of archiving slide collections and not disposing of them as apparently obsolete.
It will be interesting to track this project and see what can be learned from it.
